Your Private Eye Examination

Retinal Photography is included in the fee for this appointment which will normally take around 30 minutes, (or 45minutes with the 3D OCT scan).

Please feel free to ask questions regarding your eye health and vision. We can also advise of new services or products available, such as theTriton 3D OCT eye scan.

NHS Examinations

If you are entitled to an NHS sight test, we can undertake your examination. It's funded by the health service and in certain conditions they may also help towards the cost of your new eyewear.
We can also combine your Retinal Photography or Triton 3D OCT scan into the test. There is a small fee for either of these as they are not automatically funded by the NHS.

Children's Eyecare

Good eyesight is an important part of a child's development, helping them to reach their full potential. It’s especially important as their eyes are still developing throughout early childhood so if problems are treated early, it can make a lasting difference.
Some eye conditions do not display any signs or symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to take your child for a sight test.
Children under the age of 16 are entitled to NHS-funded sight tests (covering the cost of a sight test), plus an optical voucher, which entitles you to help towards the cost of glasses or contact lenses if required.

Triton 3D OCT Scan (Optical Coherence Tomography)

The health of your eyes matter to you and to us, which is why we are offering this
non-invasive, painless, quick and simple scan to everyone.

3D Optical Coherence Tomography (3D OCT) is an advanced scan for people of all ages. Similar to ultrasound, 3D OCT uses light rather than sound waves to image the different layers that make up the structures at the front and the back of your eyes.

The OCT machine captures both a photograph and a cross-sectional scan of the eye at the same time. This allows your qualified Optometrist to gain more information on the health of your eyes than ever before, aiding early diagnosis of a number of common ocular conditions such as:

Diabetes
AMD Age Related Macular Degeneration
Glaucoma
Vitreous detachments
Macular holes

The 3D OCT scan can be incorporated into either NHS or Private eye examination taking around 45 minutes for the appointment. The fee for the Triton 3D OCT scan is:

£40 when undertaken with a NHS sight test, and
£75 inclusive with a Private Eye Examination.
